Clearing houses, lofts, gardens and outbuildings is our core activity. In the course of this work we encounter more specialist areas we need to address. Here is a list of possibilities we can successfully complete:
1. Hoarding – there is nothing we haven’t seen – literally! Each year we undertake 8-10 extremely hoarded houses. Yes, these jobs are a lot of work – sometimes unpleasant work, however our experience is second to none having built up a reputation of successfully tackling difficult and seemingly impossible jobs. We fully understand the psychology of these jobs and work with occupants to relieve the strain over over crowded houses. We have contracts with both SW Care & Repair and North Somerset Council to work in these sorts of properties. We are experts in this area.
2. Downsizing. Many years ago we were a just a removal company, we still do removals, but mainly referrals or recommendations. We are still insured as a removal company and have successfully completed around 1000 removals in the past. These days our removals are mainly for elderly people who are moving from the family home to residential care or into houses closer to family. This “one stop shop” for downsizing allows the customer and family members to deal with one company – so streamlining the process and offering flexibility in timings and assessment of the contents of a property. We provide expert packers, packaging materials, removal and storage services, clearance and cleaning services and gardening. We can even undertake light decoration duties to freshen up properties ready to market.
3. Gardening and garden clearances. Kerb appeal is a big part of selling a house and a good cut back and sweep adds £1000’s worth of value to the price of a property (and the estate agents are happy as the “saleability” goes through the roof. We have an in-house gardener (who is sympathetic to plants and wildlife). His role is to open up spaces and create a manageable outdoor space for the property to be seen in its best light. A little money can add a lot of value in this area.
4. Furniture and Antiques valuations. Our team has been around the contents of houses for along time and during that time we have accumulated a vast knowledge of the “going rate” for a huge quantity of items from cars to marbles! If you feel there are items of value in the property then please highlight these items and we will a) value the item b) buy the item c) find the appropriate place to sell/place the item for sale.d) give you an allowance off your invoice towards those items. We do buy household items outside of clearance work – however they have to be clean and and of good value.
5. Repairs and renovations. We are asked to do allsorts of things when readying houses to be marketed. We have organised whole house renovations before now, something which is rare however our in-house team has an ex-carpenter, ex-decorator and ex-engineer on board so we do turn our hand to jobs which can add value to the sale price of a house on a regular basis. Just ask, if we can’t do it we can find someone who can!
